The commitment of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana to giving young Italian and international fashion designers the space to grow continues.
This year, the opportunity was given to the very talented Matty Bovan, whose colourful style and exploration of unexpected and sometimes dreamy forms whose design aesthetic resonates with the creative universe of Dolce&Gabbana.
“The colours, proportions, and energy of Matty Bovan’s work reveal the tremendous research and creative process behind each piece. We immediately had a special understanding with him; we are happy to be able to support Matty and the poetry of his vision”, affirmed the stylists Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
Already at work in the style offices of the fashion house, the rising British star of the fashion world presented his new collection in September 2022 during the next Milan Fashion Week. Dolce&Gabbana supported the project across all stages of its realization, from the supply of fabrics and materials to the debut on the catwalk.
“I am so excited to announce that I will be showing my next collection in Milan supported by Dolce&Gabbana. Craft and handiwork are at the heart of my work, something that myself and this iconic maison have great affinity with; the synergy upon meeting Domenico and Stefano recently was palpable. I’m still processing the idea that I am going to be exploring their archives and mixing their historic work with my new output for next spring. I’m already feeling the turbo charge of this alliance!”, added the young designer Matty Bovan.
