This room pays homage to one of the masterpieces of Italian cinema, the award-winning legendary film based on Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa’s novel, “Il Gattopardo.” Despite the passage of many decades since its inception, the film continues to exude strength and charm. It portrays the encounter between two young individuals representing the fading historic Sicilian aristocracy on one hand and the emerging new bourgeoisie of humble origins on the other. A poignant reflection on tradition and modernity, the film gazes simultaneously into the past and the future.
