The name Barbini stands out among the celebrated Venetian mirror makers who were summoned to contribute to the decorations of the iconic Gallery of Mirrors in Versailles. This opulent and elegant space, a symbol of seventeenth-century French architecture, showcases the Barbinis’ mastery of mirror-making.
Vincenzo and Giovanni Barbini, the custodians of this illustrious legacy, have innovated their family’s historical art with creativity and mastery. On display are some of the company’s treasures, authentic and rare period pieces that date back to the time of their grandfather.
The captivating clarity of glass, mastered in the fifteenth century, is intrinsically tied to the esteemed Barovier family. Their legacy has significantly contributed to the fame of Venetian crystal. Established in 1295, this company is one of the oldest artisanal businesses still managed by a family. In 1936, the merger with the Toso family business resulted in the formation of the prestigious Barovier&Toso.
