The legacy of Fornace Orsoni, established in 1888, stands as a bastion of ancient Venetian glassmaking traditions, preserving the art of mosaic production with techniques such as using 24K gold leaf and Venetian enamels in a palette of over 3,500 hues. Today, TREND Group upholds this invaluable heritage, having welcomed Orsoni into its fold in 2003.
The Orsoni mosaics showcased in the exhibition “From the Heart to the Hands” evoke the Byzantine art that emerged in Byzantium, now Istanbul, post the fourth century AD, with notable examples found in the Cathedral of Monreale and the Basilica of San Marco in Venice.
